Why your Aircon NOT COLD?

Aircon not Cold or Blowing Hot Air?

Reasons Why Your Aircon Is Not Cold

‍Aircon not cold is usually due to dirt and debris clogged inside the coil result the cooling system not functioning in optimal state. Thus, its essential to ensure the aircon are service regularly to prevent such issues as servicing will clean the aircon to remove the dirt accumulated over years in the air filters and coils.

1. Air Filter Dirty and Clogging

The filter helps to trap airborne particles and can get clogged easily if the aircon is not service regularly. The clog filters will restrict the air flow resulting in the aircon not be able produce to cool air anymore.

2. Dirty Condenser Coils

The condenser coil might become dirty and full of debris over time. It is important to wash the condenser so as to dissipate the heat outside. If the coils become quite dirty, it will affect the aircon unit to cool the room and starts to blow hot air.

3. Defective Thermostat

A thermostat regulates the performance of the aircon so when there is a problem with your manual or programmable thermostat, your aircon will not be able to regulate to the desired temperature. This means that your aircon will not be cold as it does not work properly.

5. BTU not sufficient to cool the large space area

Always check that the BTU capacity is sufficient to serve the area square feet. a larger bedroom will require a higher BTU to be sufficient to cool down the area.

There is no use buying a small unit for a big room since it will overwhelm the aircon’s performance capacity and prevent it from functioning properly. High ceiling and bigger space area such as living room needs a higher BTU to cool the area.

BTUs are used to measure the amount of heat that an air conditioning unit can remove from a room per hour.

A profession aircon company will advise the sufficient and right type of aircon BTU for your house’s/commercial office requirement.

6. Leaked Refrigerant

Leaked refrigerant can also be one of the reasons why an aircon is not supplying cold air. In most cases, we will need to do pressure test to troubleshoot the issues.

3. Faulty Compressor

The compressor of the air conditioning unit circulates refrigerant between the outside and inside units. A faulty compressor will affect the coldness as the indoor units unable to blow cold air.

7. Dirty Evaporator

The evaporator is a key component of the aircon. It helps to make sure that the device is working properly and makes the house cold as well. Thus, a regular servicing will check and clean the evaporate to maintain its functionality. The cleaning can be done at an interval of 6 months to once a year, depending on the situation.

8. Blocked Condenser

The condenser helps to provide cold air within your room, and if it gets clogged and dirty, it will affect the cold air and thus, your aircon will not be cold. Thus, its always advisable to wash the condenser regularly a few times a year.
